LARC Clinic

There are many different types of contraception available, and the right choice can vary from person to person. Our team is here to provide confidential advice and support, helping you explore the options and decide what works best for your health, lifestyle, and future plans. If you would like to discuss your choices, please book an appointment with one of our clinicians by calling your GP practice or self-refer using the QR code.

At Picton PCN Women’s Health Service, we specialise in long-acting reversible contraception (LARC), such as the contraceptive implant and intrauterine devices (coils). These methods are highly effective, low-maintenance, and can last for several years, but they can also be removed at any time if you decide to try for a pregnancy or change your method.

Period Angels Station

Period poverty is a growing issue in the UK, with 21% of people who menstruate struggling to afford period products — up from 12% just a year earlier (ActionAid UK). This means millions of individuals are forced to make impossible choices between essentials like food, transport, and menstrual care.

At Dunstan Village Group Practice, we’ve set up a free Period Poverty Station to support our community. Anyone in need can pick up free period products — no questions asked — or donate any unopened items to help others. Our goal is to break the stigma around menstruation, ensure everyone has access to essential products, and foster a sense of solidarity and dignity.

How You Can Help:

· Donate: Bring unopened packs of pads, tampons, or menstrual cups to the station.

· Take What You Need: If you're in need, feel free to take what you require — no explanation needed.

· Spread the Word: Share this resource with friends, family, and colleagues who might benefit.

Together, we can ensure that no one has to choose between managing their period and meeting their basic needs.
